What does Didier Da Costa, Director of Operations for Europe, Middle-East and Africa, have to say about our place ?

Carrier Corp. - a division units of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) and a world leader in air-conditioning, heating and refrigeration - has developed one of its most important European unit in Montluel in the Ain department.

"Our site in Montluel includes a production unit and a R&D department with global responsibilities.

The activity of the site is focused on developing and manufacturing innovative products and solutions.

Being established in the Ain, between Lyon and Geneva is definitely a good answer to our needs for many reasons:

  • We are connected to the logistics backbone for trade exchanges between southern and northern Europe.
  • We benefit from a fast and direct access to the main market places thanks to the nearby International Airports: Lyon Saint-Exupery International Airport (20min drive) and Geneva International Airport (1 hour drive)
  • Another asset is the highly motivated and loyal workforce, which offers for both production workers and R&D engineers a large variety of qualifications and skills.
  • We leverage an existing network of skilled and flexible local SMEs that constitute a part of our supplier base.
  • We also have frequent and smooth relationships with the local authorities which answer to our requirements concerning our development strategy. For example, we work with the Ain Economic Mission in order to develop our network of subcontractors and support those willing to set-up in the Ain to work with us.

All these benefits contribute to the development of the Montluel site."
