Mario Scappaticci explains us the training strategy in his company.
"Within our company group, MécaBourg, we have initiated a variety of training modules for our staff, and they are available to all employees: these include technical programmes such as fork-lift driver training, specific programmes such as English and management, obligatory courses such as first-aid and fire safety, as well as training programmes to enable our staff to acquire the basic skills they need in order to evolve within the company and thus to apply for the more qualified posts, for which we have a need. For example, one of our employees - though perfectly competent in his job - lacked a certain number of basic skills: reading, mathematics and writing. The "basic" training programme that he followed, along with around ten other company employees, took place over the course of a year, for one day per week.
The benefits for the individuals concerned are obvious, but the benefits for the company are equally evident: an employee who feels more comfortable, more autonomous in his work, who can read plans, for example, whereas in the past he required help, or in the following of our ISO quality norms, which no longer poses any difficulty for the employee concerned."
