The District council of the Rhone-Alps deliberated for the creation of two clusters economic additional.
The one, held with agribusiness industries, is in bond with a strong die which employs 45.000 worker distributed out of 5.000 establishments adding up 8,6 billion d' euros of figure d' businesses.
The second relates to technologies of health, in the broad sense. In Rhône Alpes, the sector of the biomaterials, surgical instrumentation, medical textile… represents 250 companies, cumulating 20.000 collaborators, to which s' 400 medical establishments and 17 research centres add. L' objective is thus to federate these many actors in a logic d' downstream compared to the 5 regional poles of competitiveness concerned with these activities: Lyon Biopôle, Minalogic, Techtera, Plastipolis and Visioméca.
In 2007, the Ain Inter-municipal energy and e-communication syndicate committed itself to deploying an optic fibre network called LIAin (Liaison Internet de l'Ain) with the objective of making high-speed broadband available to professionals and private individuals in all the municipalities in the department (an FTTH network: Fibre To The Home).
