Development: DUQUEINE climbs on board the A350

When it became a primary supplier to the European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, Duqueine, which manufactures parts made from composite materials, chose to invest in the Ain with help from the Ain Economic Mission and support from the Ain Regional Council.

The company, based in Massieux in the Ain, will supply Airbus with composite fuselage frames for its future long-haul airliner, the A350XWB. These are so-called structural parts and therefore essential for the aircraft. Duqueine will also be supplying acoustic panels for air intakes on aircraft engines.

In all, the contract is worth several tens of millions of Euros over the whole length of the programme.

Over a few years, the Group has become a specialist in producing parts for the aeronautics industry, made from high-performance composite materials. Duqueine is also one of the world's leaders in the manufacture of carbon-fibre wheels for racing bicycles. It produces about 60,000 wheels every year. The Group is also active in equipment and subassemblies for sport and leisure activities and industrialists (parabolic antenna for radio telescopes, medical equipment).

To be able to deliver to Airbus, Duqueine will have to invest in new production capacities. The MSE is going to build a new 9,000m² plant, scheduled to be in operation by 2012.
