Combining various fields of skills and know-how traditionally present in the department (fluid, electronic and thermal engineering), the aeraulic industry sector is developing around two of the world's leading companies in the field of refrigeration and aeraulic equipment based in the Ain.


This Energy, refrigeration and air conditioning centre of excellence thus includes :

  • An industrial technological platform and hot and cold laboratory with equipment installed by the manufacturers.
  • A range of training programmes in the "refrigeration and energy" sector offered by local establishments: IUT A, AFPMA, Technical Colleges, ADEA...

This training operates within the framework of a strong partnership with the industries specialised in the manufacture of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air treatment, thermic exchange equipment… (CARRIER, CIAT, DANFOSS COMMERCIAL COMPRESSOR, TECHNIBEL, FRANCE AIR, ZIEHL-ABEGG …).

Beside these leading companies, the sector also concerns numerous subcontracting SMEs, component manufacturers, research consultancies, etc.


Training in the industrial refrigeration and energy sector in the Ain

  • DUT and Professional Degree offered by the IUT A at Bourg-en-Bresse.
  • High-school diploma in “Maintenance” (AFPMA) at Bourg-en-Bresse.
  • High-school diploma in Implementation of installations with two sub-options: bathroom installations (LP Bérard - Ambérieu) / refrigeration (LP du Bugey – Belley). BP Climatic Engineering: CFA of the public buildings and works dept. at Bourg-en-Bresse.
  • Vocational Training Certificate in Refrigeration Engineering – Air conditioning at the ADEA, Bourg-en- Bresse.
